Waste Not Want Not Battersea

Waste Not Want Not Project has been in operation since 2017 and is the first project in Battersea to collect surplus food from nearby markets and distribute it through local community and youth centres.

They have built relationships with traders in New Covent Garden Market and other local retailers and save 800kg of Fresh food every week from ending up in the bin.

Waste Not Want Not work to promote an inclusive community environment, where nobody has to prove their need. Their sessions are open to anyone who feels they would benefit from nutritious food and a chance to meet others in their local community. 

They regularly support Community Organisations that do help their community in their own field (eg. St Mungo's CEDA) and helps over 500 families and their households people a week in their community, distributing 450+  food parcels.
