West Norwich Helping Hands

Location: Norwich

West Norwich Helping Hands are a local community group operating throughout the West of Norwich with local organisations, charities and businesses to provide food parcel donations, prescription and shopping collection, and other essential provisions for those who are vulnerable, elderly or in need.

West Norwich Helping Hands have been working non-stop to ensure that those who ask for help will receive it promptly and efficiently. They have a growing community of active volunteers ranging from delivery personnel, administrators and coordinators from an array of professional and cultural backgrounds.

How you can help West Norwich Helping Hands

Food Packing, Delivery Vehicle: WNHH needs drivers to help them deliver food parcels to vulnerable people in their community. They have been running this service for 4 months, and have delivered on average 100 parcels a week during that time, helping on average 100 households per week. You will need a delivery vehicle such as a car or van. Ideally you will need to have an up-to-date DBS but this can be provided.

WNHH also needs parcel sorters to help arrange received food donations into ample-sized parcels for households who have requested aid for a given week.

Community gardening: WNHH needs gardeners, from experienced to novices, who wish to help with renovating and maintaining a local nursery's garden and playspace. Tools will be provided. Ideally you will need to have an up-to-date DBS but this can be provided.
